Most people need to learn how to think. It is important because whatever you think continuously becomes your personal reality over a period of time. Every time you think the same thought, you are giving energy to that line of thinking. With this kind of repeated push of energy your thinking patterns become fixed and rigid. This is how you form beliefs and it’s also the path to prosperity.
Because of your unconscious thinking, it’s easy to accidentally create negative personal beliefs. These beliefs that are formed from your thoughts can govern you for a lifetime in negative manner.
“I’m poor”, “I’m no good at this”, “I’m fat”,“ I’m short”, “I’m going to fail in exam / interview etc”, “I’ll not be able to achieve my goals”.
Thinking Is An Art
These are negative thoughts related to the issue of poverty consciousness. Prosperity consciousness is not just about money it covers everything positive within the flow of your life. Once you are trapped in negative thoughts and beliefs, you can spend a lot of time trapped in poverty. Not attending to the root cause of negative thinking is like pulling at the top of the weed, only to have it grow back again and again. The issue can be resolved with the following steps:
Step: 1: Acknowledge:
When we become aware of negative thoughts, the first thing is to acknowledge the same with equanimity. Acknowledging theses negative thoughts and being able to see our unconscious thinking, gives us hope for change and makes us powerful. Now there is no need to escape from reality. Acknowledging the negative thoughts is the powerful step that prepares us to get ready for re-scripting.
Step: 2: Re-script:
Once the core negative beliefs have been identified, which in this case is poverty consciousness, it’s possible to do conscious re-scripting of the same. Re-scripting is done in affirmative manner. E.g. Instead of “I’m poor” you can state it as “I’ve have an opportunity to create abundance”. This is the path to prosperity. Once the re-scripting is done for the primary line of thought, the secondary thoughts will take care of themselves. In this case “I’m going to fail in exam / interview etc” is the secondary thought. It will automatically change to “Exam / Interview is an opportunity to create abundance”. This way all other related secondary thoughts will change in a positive manner.
Step: 3: Create Positive Beliefs:
Once the re-scripting is done it’s easy to create new positive beliefs. In this case, “I’m poor” will change to “I’m here to create abundance”. Once such positive focus is created, give it attention and energise it via repetition for it to become permanent. Whatever you focus on GROWS.
This process clearly indicates that it is very important to keep watch on your thoughts. It is important to know what you are constantly giving power to on the mental level. One simple exercise is to review our daily thoughts and activities just before going to sleep. Try to recognise patterns. You’ll be surprised to see the same patterns repeating under the disguise of different thoughts.
Once you do this exercise on regular basis, it will be easier for you to recognise and relate a thought to an old pattern, which has become a belief for you. The moment you become aware of it, follow the above-mentioned steps to re-script the same and you are on your way to a new positive belief and the path to prosperity.
